WIRKK – Glider Service was founded in 1993 with a primary focus on the manufacturing and repair of composite structures. One of the company’s founders and its current owner, Jerzy Biskup, gained extensive industry experience at PDPSz – PZL Bielsko and ZRiPS – E. Margański.

With years of experience, the company has specialized in accident repairs of severely damaged gliders, motor gliders, and other composite aircraft. It was among the first to receive the IKCSP Certificate No. 06/95, authorizing maintenance and repairs of nearly all SZD-manufactured gliders and motor gliders, as well as SWIFT, FOX, PW-5, PW-6, and LAK models.

Following a rebranding to “WIRKK – Glider Service Jerzy Biskup,” the company also updated its ULC Certificate No. 006/01. In 2002, WIRKK – Glider Service obtained certification from the British Gliding Association (BGA), allowing it to service and repair all gliders and motor gliders registered in the United Kingdom. Additionally, engineer Jerzy Biskup earned the “BGA Senior Inspector No. I/A/1289” qualification, permitting him to conduct inspections (BGA Form C of A) and extend the airworthiness of UK-registered gliders and motor gliders.

The company employs a team of outstanding professionals who contribute to a friendly, family-like work environment. Many of them are former employees of “SZD-Bielsko,” where they gained skills and experience in producing both wooden and composite SZD gliders. Today, they pass this knowledge on to younger employees joining the workshop.
